Ken Little asked:

Baby boomers economic depression is caused in part by the sudden realization that early retirement causes pressure on the family budget. Jobs are harder to get and funds raised from the sale of a business are soon spent.

There is a workable self-improvement breakthrough formula for this challenge. This three part formula requires you to make some quality choices to turn your situation around. It will happen over time.

At the center of this formula is the assumption that you really want to defeat baby boomers economic depression and develop a program that keeps it away from your life for the rest of your days.

They key issue for all baby boomers who want this outcome is building and maintaining a “desire fire” for it. You can use work experiences to create self-improvement programs which will give you the income to get a mature years you are happy with as you celebrate your new lifestyle.

Use the three point formula below . It will change your outlook on life for the rest of your days.

1. Get to the Root of The Challenge

The truth is baby boomers economic depression does not start in your wallet. It starts in your head. And involves your heart as well as the words of your mouth and the actions of your body. Your response to a change in your economic circumstances will bring you a lifestyle of defeat or victory.

Look at the plight of baby boomers who have given their life to a workplace only to have their job sent offshore. 25 years of service counts for nothing. What do you do?

First up you do not panic. That creates a spiral of depression that can prove fatal. You need to recognize the power of your thoughts over your future.

You can’t stop bad news in the form of a job layoff or a failed business. You can however choose your response. You can lay down and accept it as a defeat or, the best option, is to decide to fight back in your thought life. The appearance of depressing events often can not be prevented but the length of time you stay depressed is determined by you. You choose how long it lasts.

You need to be clear on the required attitude here. It’s not all about getting mad with your boss or creditors. It’s about picking yourself up from this depressing “valley floor experience” and asking yourself what you can do to reinvent yourself. This is where you start to defeat baby boomers economic depression.

2. Take Control of Your Baby Boomer Economic Future

You will have better success in reinventing yourself when you replace your negative thoughts with positive ones. This is the foundation for your baby boomer self-improvement program. Expect to find a job that’s better than you lost and you will find it.

Keep the hope in your head and faith in your heart that your best years are still ahead. Your hope will be rewarded.

3. Always Look for Opportunities to Better Use Your “Assets”

Your “Assets” are the skills, abilities and talents you’ve developed over the years and you’ve got plenty of them.

Use your best storytelling mode to tell others, at Church, in locations where you do voluntary work, of your abilities. Always have a pleasant attitude and highlight your ongoing search for jobs to benefit others with your skills.

You get the picture. Spread the news that you are available for hire and open to any business opportunity that may come your way. Seek and you’ll. Remember also sometimes you may need perseverance as you apply the Bible truth “knock and it shall be opened unto you”. That’s how doors of economic opportunity get opened.

May you join the ranks of those who are fighting back against baby boomers economic depression and winning the battle.

Scared About Economic Meltdown? Here’s Help

Andrea Conway asked:

by Andrea Conway

Fear seems to be in the very air we breathe this week! I’m no economist (I dropped Economics 101 because of total boredom). But a permanent antidote to fear won’t be found in a discussion of economics. It will be found in an understanding of who we really are.

It’s easy to forget, when chaos appears to abound, that we are individualized expressions of the One Being, and that we innately possess all of the characteristics of our divine source. Why does source “allow” these crises, we wonder.

If you’re having trouble remembering that you and source energy are one and all-powerful, here is a spiritual point of view about what’s been going on with the economy.

As a society, our use of credit is new. Most of our parents and grandparents grew up without it. If they wanted something, they saved for it.

Our desire for faster gratification created the entire credit industry. And overall, that’s been a wonderful thing.

BUT — collectively we’re still learning to manage credit.

Will we return to the old days of scrimping and saving for everything with no credit available? Unlikely. The universe doesn’t move backwards.

Prediction: during our next stage of evolving in the use of credit, we will learn to put additional safeguards in place to handle it, both individually and as a society.

In our eager embrace of credit as our new toy, we completely overindulged and got out control. Don’t blame the banks, we are all in this together! Now we must make adjustments.

We’re learning the value of discipline and moderation as we make a course correction.

When you first learned to ride a bicycle did you fall down a lot? You didn’t yet have the internal balance required.

In the same way, we’ve been riding a fast new money machine that we hadn’t yet found the internal balance to handle.

Advice: don’t make the economy’s woes such a big deal. If this current crisis had occurred 100 years ago, panic would have been widespread, with bank runs and suicides.

Yet, as I write this, life on a Thursday morning in Denver continues as usual. People will work, play, and love today as they always do. The sun shines, the air is fresh.

I invite you to see the blessing in this.

Fear AND well-being are always present in this universe of polarities. And we, as spirit, always have the choice of where to focus.

No matter what has happened to your financial portfolio this week, remember: you are an expression of the One Being.

No matter how much you fear loss of your home or other assets, you possess unlimited resources as spirit individualized as you.

Are you worried that credit will be more difficult to get? That is putting your faith in the bankers, when your faith belongs in spirit.

Do you have fears about hurricanes and other natural disasters, the price of oil, pandemics, 2012, the wrong person getting elected for president?

These fears keep you from living your life right now. They prevent you from receiving grace right now.

Remember this about the Law of Attraction: it responds to each one of us individually.

Individually!

Because you are THAT important.

You may have noticed that most of the commentary on economics focuses on the past (what happened, why, how did it happen). And most of your fears about it focus on the future (what will happen to us?). Yet, right now, as you read this, you are safe.

All spiritual teachers — Abraham-Hicks, Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie, Deepak Chopra and countless others — teach that our only power is right now, right in this moment.

Turn to those teachers instead of to the news.

To release your fears, center your thoughts in your heart, and be here right now. Observe your breathing. Right now all is well. Right now, right now, right now (continuing forever).

Choose well-being. No matter what your circumstances, you always have the choice to access a deeper peace.

Have you ever wondered why, no matter how tough things are, you can access peace within if you intend to?

It’s because we ARE peace and well-being in our divine essence, and that core never leaves us.

“The winds of grace are always blowing; it is for us to raise our sails.” (Ramakrishna)

Raising our sails = raising our consciousness and remembering our divine origin.

Whatever appears wrong in the world arose from the past and is already, now, in the process of being made right, because spirit moves this world forward, eternally.

Choose to focus forward.
